The freelancer admin kit

Freelance admin, handled in one kit.

Most freelancers lose five to ten hours a week to work that never gets billed: quoting, proposals, invoices, and the awkward “just checking in on that payment” emails. WorkKitly is a small set of free tools built to finish that whole chain — in your browser, with nothing uploaded and no account to create.

Freelance Hourly Rate Calculator

The honest version: taxes, expenses, vacation and non-billable time are all in the maths, not hidden from it.

Why private

Your client list is nobody else’s business

Most “free” generators are lead machines for a paid accounting suite. Your invoice — with your client’s name, your rates and your revenue on it — gets sent to their server so they can market to you later. Some stamp their logo on your PDF unless you pay. We think that trade is backwards.

Every WorkKitly tool runs entirely in your browser. Open your browser’s network tab while you use one: you will see zero uploads. That is not a policy promise; it is how the tools are built.

  • No sign-up. No email gate before the download, no account, no password to leak.
  • Nothing uploaded. Invoices, proposals and rates are generated on your device and stored only in your own browser, on this device.
  • No watermark. Your documents carry your name and your logo space — never ours.
  • No daily caps. Make one invoice or forty. The tool does not count, because it is not metering you for an upsell.
Tested reviews

Reviews that show their scores

When we compare paid software, we run the same real jobs through each product, publish the scores, and date them. Prices change; our pages say when they were last checked.

FreshBooks vs Wave

Two ways to invoice as a solo freelancer — one free with card fees, one $23 a month with a five-client cap. We did the fee maths on a $2,000 invoice so you don’t have to.

Questions

Asked often, answered plainly

Yes — fully working, no trial clock, no “free for the first three invoices”. We earn money from clearly disclosed affiliate commissions in our guides when someone upgrades to paid software, and from ads we may add later. The tools themselves stay free.
Nowhere. The invoice is built and printed by your own browser. Some tools save your business details in your browser’s local storage, on your device only, so you don’t retype them next time. Clear your browser data and they are gone. See the privacy policy.
No. The rate calculator uses a tax percentage you enter as a planning estimate, so the rate covers what you expect to owe. It is not tax advice and does not replace an accountant — it stops you quoting a rate that forgets tax exists.
Yes, that is what they are for. Invoices and proposals generated here are standard business documents. For contracts or anything legally binding, have a lawyer in your state review the wording first — our proposal terms are a sensible starting draft, not legal advice.
Accounts are how tools start charging and tracking. Keeping everything on your device keeps it free, instant and private. The trade-off is real: your saved details live in one browser, and we say so openly.
